Orthophotography/Aerial Mapping

National Map Centre can provide monochrome or colour orthophotography dating back to 2000 and 2005 editions. Orthophotography is available on heavy weight paper prints from A4 to A0 size sheets, or as raster TIFF images, in either full colour or black and white.

The latest colour orthophotography was flown between 2004 and 2006. Previous colour orthophotography was flown in July 2000. All of these products can be output to your specified resolution and are available in both IG and ITM nationally.

OS photography is an asset invaluable for all types of research and analysis including project planning, boundary disputes, crop/estate management, reference and education.

Orthophotography has proved highly popular with a wide range of clients. This approach is far more than a simple process of aerial photography. Captured digitally, the orthophotography is corrected to allow for slopes and other distortions so that it corresponds exactly to large scale mapping, providing high levels of accuracy.

There are two data series to choose from:

Ortho 2005 (Tiff Format) - Latest colour aerial photography flown between 2004 and 2006
Ortho 2000 (Tiff Format) - Aerial photography flown in July 2000
